Do I need to know how to code?
Nope! The Hackathon welcomes people of all backgrounds including science, design, business and anything else! The only requirement is the drive to create!
Do I need a team?
No. Most participants join as individuals and form teams with other participants. You can join as a team but we restrict teams to maximum 3 people. We have limited capacity and want to aim for a diverse group of participants.
Do I already need an idea for a tool or extension?
No, but we encourage you to! On the first day you have the possibility to pitch an idea or pain point you've been thinking about for years, or something last minute you think of during the event. Everyone gets 60 seconds to pitch their idea.
Is the event free?
Yes! Because of our partnership with WIX — the host and main sponsor of this event - we’re able to make the event free for all attendees! We provide food and drinks during both days. However, you must still apply and be accepted as we have a limited number of spots available. In addition, we provide a bunch of scholarships to cover stay and travel costs for those in need!
Do you provide assistance for accommodation and travel?
Participants are expected to make there own residency and transportation arrangements. We have some hotel recommendations close to the venue that we’ll share with the selected participants.
What should I bring?
The most important thing is your laptop with your favorite design tools installed, your charger, dongles, and of course lots of creative energy. Other useful (but not necessary) things: notebook, pen/pencil, business cards and a water bottle.
What if I can’t attend both days?
All participants are expected to attend both Thursday and Friday — this is when all the action happens! Friday the day ends around 8pm.
Where can I find the full schedule?
Check out the event overview above. The full schedule will be announced soon.
Why is the hackathon taking place in Tel-Aviv?
Tel-Aviv is an amazing place with a great tech scene. To be more accessible for other parts of the world we teamed up with WiX to make this happen.
Do I need a visa to travel to Israel?
With an EU passport you won’t need a special travel visa. For all others, we advise to carefully check the information on the website of the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
